Peppermint Pretty * Retro inspired wedding gowns
I have fallen in love with these unique stylish whimsical wedding dresses by Peppermint Pretty . Since I won't be getting married again I'm trying to think of an excuse to have a dress made.
I love the vintage influence. I'm amazed at how inexpensive they are for a custom made gown. The tea length gowns would be ideal for mountain weddings, no hem dragging on the ground collecting pine needles. I also think it would be amazing to get one of her tea length gowns as a second dress for the reception. They are so playful and would be perfect to dance in.
Her full length gowns with beautiful luxurious ruffles are so romantic and sweet.
I would definitely have a hard time deciding. I would love to see one of my brides wearing one of these, they look like so much fun to photograph.
Check out her Etsy shop here.

* Golf Boutonniere *
I loved this handcrafted golf themed boutonniere created by bride Jessica. It was perfect for Jessica and Scott's wedding at Silvertip Golf Resort. Not only was it a perfect fit for their wedding but it looked great all day and through the night even after all the hugs and kisses. |

Confetti Wedding Films * Jenna + Ross
Confetti wedding films were there to document Jenna and Ross' day for them. The husband and wife team made up of Nicole and Trevor are two of the hardest working people I know. Their passion and love for their clients is obvious.
I love getting to see Confetti wedding films perspective on a day I witnessed as well. Being able to hear Jenna and Ross' vows is powerful to me.
Working with a videographer can potentially limit what I can capture as a photographer but working with Nicole and Trevor is a dream for me. We work beautifully as a team and it makes the day all about the 4 of us working hard to capture the spirit and details of a wedding day for our couples.
The above is a film highlight that Nicole created for Jenna and Ross to tide them over while she creates their feature film. Jenna and Ross are going to be holding a champagne reception in their hometown for all the dear friends and family that weren't at Emerald Lake with them. The hometown reception will feature a 9pm screening of their wedding film complete with a popcorn machine of course! |

Emerald Lake Wedding * Sweetheart Table
I love sweetheart tables at weddings. They are so romantic looking. I adored the sweetheart table Jenna and Ross designed for their intimate Emerald Lake wedding. |
| I loved that Jenna and Ross moved their chairs so that they faced out to their friends and family and so they could be closer to each other. |
What is most important to me as a photographer is capturing the moments that make up a wedding day for my couples but doing so in a way that I am not being disruptive to their guests experience of the day. It can be a challenge at times. Jenna and Ross set their room up perfectly in that it allowed me to capture photographs of them at their table listening to toasts without having to stand directly in front of guests for most of the time. If you look closely at the room shot there were two tables in front that I could crouch between.
If you'd like to capture candid photographs during the toasts think of ways that you can set up your room that allows your photographer to get close for photographs without having to stand in the way of your friends and family at the same time. |

Highland Executive Chauffeur * Picnics
One of my favourite moments from Laura and Kenya's wedding day was the incredibly romantic picnic they shared after their wedding ceremony before we drove around for photographs. I had never seen this done on a wedding day before and I thought it was so sweet.
Laura and Kenya hired Gerrard from Highland Executive Chauffeur to drive them around in his 1952 Silver Bentley for their wedding. Gerrard has recently added picnics to his services which feature locally made gourmet lunches, delicious wines and handcrafted locally made chocolates. Picnics can be an added service to your wedding day chauffeur service or you can enjoy a tour around Banff in the Bentley followed by a picnic perfect for romantic proposals, anniversary celebrations and surprises for loved ones.
Gerrard surprised Laura and Kenya by setting up a table for them to enjoy in the same field that they had been married in. I took a couple of photographs and then we stepped away so the newlyweds could enjoy a few moments alone together. Laura told me they loved the opportunity to really take in the view and reflect on their wedding ceremony.
The picnic recharged them, gave them a romantic moment together as newlyweds and will certainly be a lovely memory for them of their wedding day. A wedding day goes by so quickly I love the idea of setting aside some time to reflect on the ceremony together.
