September 6, 2010 · Weddings Silvertip Wedding Photographer * Stacey + Luke

ou may remember Stacey and Luke from their snowy Engagement Shoot in Lake Louise. It seemed like I waited forever for their wedding day to arrive because I was so excited.
Stacey and Luke had a black and white themed wedding at Silvertip in Canmore. We had rain for most of their wedding day but they didn't let it dampen their spirits at all.
Terra from Inspired Occasions did a beautiful job of coordinating their day for them and brought Stacey's vision to life with her attention to detail and calm demeanor.
This is my favourite photograph from the day. It was taken right outside the church moments after Stacey and Luke exited as husband and wife. Stacey looks so radiant.
Loved the custom detailing Stacey did to the bottom of her shoes.I'm a big fan of fun colourful shoes on a wedding day.
Loved loved loved that the groomsmen had fun socks. There aren't a lot of accessories for groomsmen to have fun with, socks is definitely a place to be creative.
The feathers in Stacey's bouquet by Peaseblossoms was a nice textural touch.
Stacey designed an extensive candy buffet that looked amazing!
I particularly loved the way they personalized the candy buffet by having tubes of toothpaste that said "Brush Up" a perfect fit for a groom who is a dentist.
Luke's heritage is Polish so Luke's parents presented the bride and groom with bread and salt as they entered for their reception. It is a blessing whereby they present bread in hopes that the couple will never go hungry or be in need and salt as a reminder that there will be difficult times and you have to learn as a couple to cope with life's struggles.
Stacey thoughtfully put together these baskets of flip flops for guests who wanted to slip off their heels and dance. I thought it was sweet the way she organized them all in shoe sizes and fit in with their black and white theme.
Stacey and her Dad at the end of their father/daughter dance.
Stacey and Luke had family travel from as far away as Poland and Saskatchewan to come celebrate their day with them in the mountains. Getting to witness Stacey and Luke become husband and wife was a really sweet day.
Thank you Stacey and Luke for asking me to be your wedding photographer!
August 29, 2010 · Weddings Silvertip Wedding Photography * Jess + Scott
J
ess and Scott had an amazing wedding. Their intimate wedding at Silvertip resort was so emotional. I seriously doubt that there was a dry eye in the room after the speeches.
Jenna from Signature Weddings by Jenna was there to make sure the day ran perfectly and set all the decor up so that Scott and Jessica could enjoy their day.
A sweet gift from Scott to Jess.
Jess looked stunning.
I loved the grey suits that Scott chose for himself and his groomsmen.
We made a stop at the Ice Cream School bus in Canmore. We called the 5 scoop ice cream Scott's "man bouquet".
Jess was pretty concerned about ice cream stains.
Jess and Scott hired Gerrard from Highland Executive Chauffeur to drive them around for photographs and to bring Jessica down the aisle for their ceremony.
Jess was pretty excited to be walking down the aisle with both her parents.
There were a lot of sweet tears during the ceremony followed by laughter.
Jess with her maid of honour Steph right after the ceremony. Steph gave one of the most beautiful speeches I have heard at a wedding and started the epic cry fest during the reception.
I loved the creative placecards that Jess and Scott chose, they doubled as favours.
I absolutely LOVED that Scott and Jess started their reception with their first dance on the patio at Silvertip. I've never seen anyone do this before and after experiencing it I don't know why more couples don't do this. The patio is a great dancefloor and I love the way the energy of the first dance started off the reception. I also loved the way it gave their guests a chance to gather around at the end of the cocktail hour.
Jessica and Scott thank you for a heartwarming experience. I feel so so lucky to have been there. Aside from your differing hockey teams :) you are perfect for each other.
August 22, 2010 · Weddings Banff Springs Wedding Photographer * Clea + Ron

ou may remember Clea and Ron from their Engagement portrait in Denver. After getting to know them a little bit as a couple on that day I was looking forward to seeing their wedding day come to life. Their chemistry together is obvious to everyone who meets them.
Clea's necklace looked absolutely stunning and glittered in the light.
Clea and her Dad just before they walked down the aisle.
I love the terrace at The Banff Springs for weddings.
I thought the red stitching on Ron's buttonhole was a nice custom touch.
I have become a huge fan of bowties. Ron's bowtie was made from beautiful fabric and I loved the contrasting fabric to add depth.
Stunning Clea.
A perfect example of why I love long veils.
Lynn, Rebecca and the hardworking team from Lynn Fletcher Weddings did an amazing job of designing and putting together the decor for the Cascade ballroom at The Banff Springs.
The absolutely stunning cake from Cake Creations. The flowers are made out of sugar!
Clea is an opera singer and performed at their wedding as one of her gifts to Ron.
Clea and her Dad at the end of their father/daughter dance together.
Clea and Ron's wedding at The Banff Springs was a true reflection about what they are passionate about. Clea is an opera singer and as a gift to Ron she sang at their wedding. Ron was raised in Kansas and his mother is named Dorothy so it was perfectly fitting that she sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow" as one of her songs. It was my favourite moment from their day. It was really powerful.
Clea's godparents performed their ceremony. Clea and Ron wrote their vows together and created a personal ceremony that included readings of their favourites passages from the Velveteen Rabbit and Shakespeare among others. Each member of their wedding party gave a reading which I had never seen done before.
Clea and Ron took a few dance lessons and pulled off a flawless and dramatic first dance. You can see Ron's perfect lift in the photo second from the bottom.
Thank you Clea and Ron for trusting me to photograph your wedding.

August 20, 2010 · Weddings Silvertip Wedding Photography * Sally + Dean
S
ally and Dean had an intimate wedding at Silvertip resort in Canmore. They traveled from New Zealand to get married in the mountains and were rewarded for their travels with what could be quite possibly the best summer wedding day weather we've had.
The flowergirl could not wait to head down the aisle.
Robin did a beautiful job performing the ceremony for Sally and Dean. Sally and Dean loved that Robin left the ceremony on his motorcycle.
The flowergirl was not in the mood for photographs with the rest of the girls. Not to worry her Dad picked her up and comforted her immediately after I took this single photograph.
The Sinclair room at Silvertip is ideal for intimate weddings. The small deck just off to the right of the photograph gives guests mountain views.
Check out his little converse.
Sally and Dean your wedding turned out beautifully. It was lovely to get to see you become husband and wife surrounded by those closest to you. Your families were so hilarious and had me cracking up. Thank you for all the photographs.
August 18, 2010 · Weddings Banff Springs Wedding * Sophie + Kelly
The handsome watch that Sophie gave Kelly as a wedding present and her gorgeous wedding day shoes. Blue for good luck!
I thought the clouds were beautiful on Kelly and Sophie's wedding day. I especially loved them because we didn't get rained on!
Sophie you are gorgeous!
Sophie brought along some other footwear for walking around for photographs.
Sophie is french and Kelly is Irish so they had their cupcakes personalized to honour their backgrounds.
The weddings I love most are the ones where it is obvious that the couple is having a good time. Sophie couldn't wait to dance. They brought a DJ from Montreal to get their dancefloor going.
I didn't get a chance to meet Sophie and Kelly before their wedding day. Sophie had sent me a photograph to introduce themselves so I knew then they were gorgeous before I met them. They were also incredibly sweet and gracious.
Lynn from Lynn Fletcher Weddings helped Sophie and Kelly design a wedding that reflected the both of them.
Thank you Sophie and Kelly for choosing me to be your wedding photographer! I absolutely loved meeting you both.
