've had so many crush worthy shoes to photograph at weddings this summer. I saw this shoe cabinet photo and thought it was an inspiring idea. Why hide your beautiful shoe collection in a closet when you can have it on display like the art it is to enjoy all the time.
A dear friend of mine surprised me with the most amazing orange roses this week. Not only are they gorgeous to look at but they are so beautifully fragrant. Thank you Am for the beautiful gift. I adore them.
My Mum reads my blog everyday yet I don't update it very often especially during the busy season. I am going to attempt to have a new blog post everyday this week for my Mum and to celebrate all the amazing photoshoots I have been lucky to photograph this summer. I love you Mum!

ast week Kevin stole me away from my computer in the afternoon and treated me to a hike up to Healy Pass. We took our puppy Leroy with us who proved to be an amazing hiking companion completing the 18K with energy left over and stopping to smell and maybe chew on a few flowers along the way.
It was such a welcome break to take in the flowers and get to enjoy my husband and puppy in an afternoon off together. It's something I really need to do more.
Leroy really seemed to be taking in the view. Although it is more likely he was listening intently to the ground squirrels who were taunting him.
I fell in love with these. I kept calling them Cousin It. When I got home I had to look them up in my Wildflowers of the Canadian Rockies book that friends gave us and found out they are actually Western Anemone. They seem so animated to me.
Leroy also found them fascinating.
I found it terribly underwhelming looking at my photographs of Healy Pass they simply don't capture the epic beauty of fields upon fields of wildflowers spread out before you. It is truly something that has to be experienced.
One of the things that I absolutely love about living in the mountains is that there is always something to be watching for and looking forward to. The wildflowers in full bloom at Healy Pass which I feel so very lucky to have caught at their peak last week, the larch trees turning golden in Larch Valley and the first time the ice is deemed ice skate safe on the lakes are just a few of my favourite moments to look forward to throughout the year.

Issue 6 of UPPERCASE magazine just arrived in the mail yesterday and I can not wait to look through it. I prefer to wait for a moment when I can really enjoy it cover to cover without distractions so for now it is teasing me on the coffee table.
